resource What is Home Health Care?

Perfect Touch Home Health Care provides highly skilled, quality health  care to individuals in their homes. A full spectrum of cost-effective services, ranging from high-tech nursing to non-medical assistance with the activities of daily living, are available. These services are provided by trained caregivers and include skilled nursing, rehabilitation and personal care services.

resource Who Uses Home Health Care?

Most people prefer to stay home rather than go to a hospital or nursing home when they can no longer manage their own care or during intermittent periods of infirmity. Moreover, research shows that patients improve considerably faster and achieve better outcomes when they are allowed to recover at home. Home health care is not just an alternative to institutionally based care - home health care services can allow many individuals to avoid institutional care altogether.

resource Who Pays for Home Health Care?

Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Private Insurance and Private Payors can all pay for Skilled Nursing Services and Therapists. These services must be ordered by a physician and may only be covered for a specific amount of time or "visits".

resource How is Perfect Touch Home Health Care Regulated?

Organized home care programs such as Perfect Touch’s are highly regulated by the state and federal government. Licensed home health agencies undergo annual licensure surveys through the State's Department of Health Services. Medicare-certified programs are surveyed every three years against Medicare’s Conditions of Participation. Additionally, Perfect Touch is proud to be the fist Home Health Care Agency in Los Angeles to have achieved the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for all of the services, which we provide. resource How are Nurses and Caregivers selected?

Perfect Touch Home Health Care staff meet high standards for training, and many, such as Registered Nurses, Therapists and Certified Nursing Assistants, hold professional licenses or certificates through the Board of Registered Nurses and other regulatory authorities.

Potential staff is put through an extensive background check, which includes verification of training as well as disclosure of any negative episodes within the employee’s career. Thereafter, they are then oriented, bonded, and insured to protect the patient from any liability.

resource What are the obligations of the patient/client?

There is no long-term obligation with the agency. If the patient /client is dissatisfied with the agency, they can stop receiving services at any time. As a patient/client you have the right to inform agency personnel, without fear of reprisal, of any concerns you may have regarding your care, the services rendered or treatment of your personal property.
